In AMDSB, Adult and Alternative Education includes program support for secondary school COPE, Supervised Alternative Learning (SAL), as well as all Adult Education programs. It is my responsibility to oversee, collaborate with and provide support to the staff within each of these programs to align best practises, relating to curriculum delivery and assessment.
Stacy Somerville – Student Success

I work collaboratively with school staff, coordinators and consultants to sustain growth in the four critical areas of student success in grades 7 to 12: Literacy; Numeracy; Pathways; Caring Culture; and Community. I provide specific support to school-based Student Success Teams to ensure all students have a positive secondary school experience. In addition, I am the board contact for AMDSB’s Cultivating Character initiative.
Jeff Piro – Pathways Coordinator

My role is to manage the Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP), School College Work Initiative (SCWI) and Specialist High Skills Major program (SHSM), which are provincial programs running within our board. I work with and develop partnerships with business, industry and educational stakeholders to support school programming and board initiatives. I also act as a resource for Cooperative Education, Guidance, Technical Education, Student Success, and Community Involvement Programs.
