Indigenous Understanding Presentation
Trustee Doug Pratley stated that he was honoured to attend an event hosted by Avon Maitland earlier this week involving Dr Susan Dion. Dr Dion is a First Nations researcher and educator at York University. Her teaching and research focus on understanding the representation of Indigenous people and the relationship between First Nations and non-First Nations people in Ontario public schools.
Avon Maitland invited Dr Dion to speak with us to ensure we all have an accurate understanding of our shared history.
