The Avon Maitland District School Board is offering students from grade 7-12 the opportunity to participate in an exchange program with students from the Caribbean International Academy in beautiful St. Maarten, Netherlands Antilles.
Three students from each grade (7-12) will be selected to represent our school board and will be joined by AMDSB staff members on this incredible learning experience. The students will be twinned with a student of the same age and gender from the Caribbean International Academy. On each side of the exchange, their twin’s family will host the visiting student. During the exchange, the students will attend classes. After school and weekend activities will be organized by the host families in conjunction with the school and the school board.
Caribbean International Academy is a private school located on the Dutch side of St. Maarten and is governed by the Netherlands. Their school follows the Ontario curriculum taught by Ontario trained teachers. The Principal of the school, Herb Klassen is a former AMDSB principal.
