With the help of his fellow classmates, Exeter Elementary 5th grade student Hunter King’s dream of throwing the first pitch at a Blue Jays game may become a reality.
Hunter and his fellow classmates each wrote a letter to the Toronto Blue Jays asking if Hunter could throw the first pitch during their home game against Arizona on June 22nd. The campaign “#HunterJune22” started by the grade 5 class was shared on Facebook and Twitter and has received over 11 000 views to date.
Hunter is 10 years old and was born with cerebral palsy. His fellow classmates came up with the idea and the campaign to give their friend Hunter the chance of a lifetime.
With the help of the Foundation for Education, through the gracious foresight of the late Helen Lenore Roszell, 126 tickets for the game on June 22nd have been purchased for students and chaperones to attend.
